Independent monitoring of the European Health Data Space
EHDS Monitor brings together regulatory developments, national implementation, research and events concerning the European Health Data Space.
What is EHDS Monitor?
EHDS Monitor is an independent, curated resource following the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2025/327 on the European Health Data Space. It is designed for researchers, policymakers, lawyers, healthcare professionals, public authorities, civil-society organisations and others working with health data in Europe.
The aim is not simply to collect links. EHDS Monitor selects relevant developments, connects them with the underlying legal and policy context, and explains why they matter. Particular attention is given to secondary uses of health data, governance, national implementation and the evidence supporting policy choices.
The resource is being developed progressively as the EHDS moves from legislation to implementation.

Andrea Martani is a researcher working at the intersection of health law, bioethics and health-data governance. His research examines the legal and ethical implications of emerging policies for the access, control and reuse of health data.
He founded EHDS Monitor to make regulatory developments, national implementation and the growing evidence base easier to find, compare and critically assess.
Editorial approach
Original sources
Wherever possible, entries link to the original regulation, official document, publication or event organiser so that readers can verify the underlying information.
Reporting and analysis
Factual reporting is distinguished from interpretation and commentary. Selection for inclusion does not imply endorsement.
Transparency and corrections
Material corrections will be identified and dated. The scope and editorial approach of the Monitor will be reviewed as EHDS implementation develops.
Independence
EHDS Monitor is an independent editorial initiative. Institutional affiliations are provided for identification purposes. The views expressed do not necessarily represent the University of Zurich, the SNSF, the European Union or any other institution.
